Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain accurate inventory levels at our Richmond, Virginia facility. This critical role ensures the integrity of our stock, playing a vital part in our overall logistics and supply chain management. You will be responsible for tracking inventory, conducting cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and implementing procedures to minimize stock errors. The ideal candidate will have a sharp analytical mind, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong understanding of warehouse operations and safety protocols. Your expertise is key to operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to prevent loss and damage.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement in our logistics.
  • Monitor stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) and ensure product integrity.
  • Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and operational teams to manage inventory flow.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and proper use of PPE during inventory tasks.
  • Generate reports on inventory status, accuracy, and movement.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in inventory control or a related warehouse/logistics role.
  • Proficiency with WMS software and inventory management techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform lifting of inventory items as needed, up to 30 lbs.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and the importance of safety.
  • Good organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or certification in a related field is a plus.
