We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our thriving distribution center in Tampa, Florida. As a Forklift Operator, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient movement of goods throughout our logistics facility. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts to load and unload trucks, move materials to and from storage areas, and assist with inventory management. The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift operator certification, a strong safety record, and previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment. A thorough understanding of forklift operation, warehouse safety protocols, and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is essential. This role requires precision, efficiency, and a commitment to maintaining a hazard-free workplace. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, so the ability to multitask and communicate effectively with team members is important. This position may involve some manual lifting and physical tasks when not operating the forklift. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, and move materials.
- Transport goods to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform pre-shift inspections and routine maintenance on forklifts.
- Assist with inventory control and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions.
- Collaborate with other warehouse personnel to ensure efficient operations.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed.
- May involve some manual lifting up to 35 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and procedures.
- Proficiency in using PPE correctly.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of logistics and material handling.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
