We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, loading, and unloading materials within our warehouse. You will operate various types of forklifts, ensuring that all movements are performed with precision and adherence to safety standards. This role is critical to the smooth operation of our logistics and supply chain processes. Maintaining a safe work environment is our top priority, and all operators are expected to follow strict guidelines. Proper handling of materials and equipment is essential. This position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, and a strong commitment to workplace Safety . Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Inspect forklift equipment before and after use, reporting any issues.
- Follow all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Wear required PPE , including safety shoes and any other specified gear.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Adhere to all traffic rules and regulations within the facility.
- This role involves operating machinery and potential Lifting of items when not using equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and Logistics .
- Strong understanding of forklift Safety procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
