We are seeking an organized and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Fort Worth, Texas. This critical role ensures that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company and carrier regulations. As a Shipping Clerk, you will manage the preparation of shipping documents, coordinate with carriers, and maintain accurate shipping records. Your role is vital in maintaining the integrity of our supply chain and ensuring timely delivery of products to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate shipping labels, manifests, and bills of lading.
- Verify order details and shipping information before dispatch.
- Coordinate pick-up schedules with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL).
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant departments and customers.
- Inspect outgoing packages for proper packaging and labeling.
- Maintain organized shipping logs and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and transportation partners.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE when handling goods or operating equipment.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a shipping clerk or in a similar administrative/logistics role is required. Proficiency with shipping software and carrier portals is essential. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to perform lifting of up to 30 pounds as needed for package preparation. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. A commitment to safety, including the appropriate use of PPE, is crucial for this role. Understanding of shipping documentation and logistics processes is necessary.
