Job Summary:
We have an immediate opening for a skilled Material Handler in our Des Moines, Iowa warehouse. This position is vital for the efficient flow of goods within our logistics operations. The Material Handler will be responsible for moving, organizing, and preparing materials for shipment, ensuring accuracy and safety at all times. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of safe material handling practices. You will play a key part in maintaining our warehouse's operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload trucks, ensuring materials are handled carefully.
  • Move inventory within the warehouse using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Organize and stack materials in designated areas, ensuring proper storage and accessibility.
  • Prepare materials for shipment by consolidating, labeling, and staging orders.
  • Conduct daily checks on material handling equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
  • Assist with inventory counts and help maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Report any damaged materials or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.

Qualifications:
Previous experience in a material handler, warehouse, or logistics role is highly valued. Must be capable of performing significant lifting (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the shift. Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, and bend for extended periods. A strong commitment to workplace safety and hazard awareness is mandatory. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team environment. Familiarity with warehouse equipment operation is required. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
