We are looking for a dedicated Material Handler to join our San Francisco, California facility. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the efficient movement and management of materials throughout the warehouse. This includes receiving, storing, organizing, and staging materials for production or shipment. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will ensure the smooth flow of goods within our logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Receive incoming materials, verify quantities, and inspect for damage.
- Store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.
- Pick, stage, and deliver materials to various departments or work centers.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and free of obstructions, contributing to overall warehouse safety.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize material flow and handling processes within the logistics framework.
- Perform tasks requiring physical exertion, including frequent lifting of heavy items.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Valid forklift operator certification is highly preferred.
- Experience operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Physical capability to perform tasks involving significant lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving in a dynamic logistics environment.
