We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Omaha, Nebraska. In this role, you will be essential in ensuring that all outbound shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulations. You will manage shipping documentation, coordinate with carriers, and maintain the integrity of our shipping operations. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all shipping documentation, including bills of lading, labels, and manifests.
- Verify order accuracy and ensure all items are accounted for before shipment.
- Coordinate pick-ups and deliveries with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL freight).
- Track shipments and provide timely updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Operate shipping equipment such as scales, pallet wrappers, and printers.
- Maintain a clean and orderly shipping dock area.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations, including hazardous materials documentation if applicable.
- Conduct regular audits of shipping records to maintain accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with receiving and inventory tasks as needed.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college or vocational training is a plus.
- Previous experience in a shipping, logistics, or administrative role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common carrier platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 40 lbs.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Understanding of supply chain and logistics principles.
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE.
