We are looking for a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate processing and preparation of outgoing shipments. Your duties will include verifying order details, selecting appropriate shipping materials, generating shipping labels, and coordinating with carriers. This position is key to our logistics operations, demanding meticulous attention to detail and efficiency. You will ensure that all shipments are correctly documented and dispatched on time, contributing to overall customer satisfaction. Maintaining a safe work environment is paramount, and adherence to all Safety protocols, including the use of appropriate PPE, is mandatory. Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare all outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify order details against shipping documentation.
- Select appropriate packaging materials to ensure product safety during transit.
- Generate shipping labels and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Maintain organized records of all shipments and tracking information.
- Communicate with internal teams and carriers regarding shipment status.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with receiving duties and inventory counts as needed.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a shipping clerk or in a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common carrier platforms.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Understanding of Safety procedures in a shipping and receiving environment.
- Basic computer skills.
Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform light Lifting tasks.
- Willingness to wear required PPE.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to accuracy.
