We are seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our dedicated logistics team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently, meeting all carrier requirements and customer expectations. Your responsibilities include preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, labeling packages, and verifying order details. A strong focus on Safety and attention to detail is essential for success in this role. We provide all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and expect all team members to adhere to strict safety protocols. This position involves physical tasks such as moderate Lifting, standing, and walking. If you have experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations, and possess excellent organizational skills, we encourage you to apply. Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare all outgoing shipments accurately.
- Generate shipping labels and complete necessary documentation (e.g., bills of lading).
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup schedules and delivery tracking.
- Verify order accuracy before shipment.
- Package items securely for transit, ensuring protection from damage.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Adhere to all warehouse Safety regulations and utilize required PPE.
- Keep the shipping area clean, organized, and well-maintained.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in shipping, logistics, or a related warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to perform tasks involving moderate Lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Understanding of Safety procedures relevant to shipping operations.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to wear provided PPE.
