Job Summary:
Our Washington, D.C. office is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to oversee our inventory management processes. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and efficiency of our inventory systems. Your primary focus will be on maintaining precise stock records, minimizing discrepancies, and implementing best practices in inventory control. This position requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to work with complex data. You will conduct regular cycle counts, investigate variances, reconcile stock levels, and develop strategies to improve inventory accuracy and reduce loss. Collaboration with various departments, including warehouse operations, procurement, and finance, is key to success. Maintaining a safe working environment is a top priority, and you will be expected to adhere to all safety regulations and properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary. Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventory assessments.
  • Investigate and resolve all inventory discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain and update inventory records within the designated system.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and improve accuracy.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff, purchasing, and sales teams to ensure data integrity.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Occasional Lifting of stock items up to 30 lbs may be required.
  • Support the optimization of overall logistics and warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory control or inventory management.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software (WMS, ERP).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Understanding of warehouse safety protocols.
