Our distribution center in Washington, D.C. is seeking a dedicated Distribution Center Associate to support our operational needs. This multifaceted role involves a variety of tasks including receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping of goods. You will be an integral part of our logistics chain, ensuring that products move efficiently and accurately through the facility. A commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are crucial for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, verify, and stock incoming merchandise.
- Accurately pick and pack orders for shipment.
- Prepare goods for shipment, including labeling and staging.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Perform tasks involving moderate to heavy Lifting.
- Participate in inventory counts and audits.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the logistics operations.
- Ensure that all materials are handled with care to prevent damage.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Ability to operate various warehouse equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and work in a physically demanding role that includes frequent Lifting.
- Familiarity with PPE requirements for warehouse environments.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime.
- Basic computer skills.
