Our logistics company is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Control Specialist for our Sacramento, California facility. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our inventory, which is fundamental to our logistics operations. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining inventory control procedures, conducting cycle counts, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and optimizing stock levels. Your analytical skills and understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) will be key to success. A strong commitment to safety, including adherence to all protocols and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is essential. You will collaborate closely with warehouse supervisors and associates to maintain data accuracy and improve operational efficiency. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve all inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of inventory data within the WMS.
- Develop, implement, and refine inventory control policies and procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and recommend adjustments to optimize stock.
- Analyze inventory trends and provide reports on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure efficient product flow and storage.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety regulations and the correct use of PPE.
- Train warehouse staff on inventory management best practices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory control.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks as needed, including occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adherence to PPE requirements.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
