Responsibilities:
  • Technical Skills/Knowledge
  • Maintains instrumentation and work area.
  • Maintains quality control and calibration functions.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of specimen requirements and limitations of testing procedures.
  • Consistently completes testing within established time frames.
  •  Recognize and address issues within the department.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four (4) year MT or HTL program approved a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent or eligible.
  • Must meet the minimum requirements of the Clinical Laboratory Act of 1988. 

Experience

  • Prefer recent experience in a hospital laboratory as a Medical Technologist (MT) / Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) / Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) / Histotechnologist (HTL)

(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)

Licensure/Certification

  • Registered with ASCP (or eligible for registry) as a Medical Technologist or equivalent

Compensation/Benefits

  • $26.77-$43.71/hr depending on previous experience
  • Position qualifies for $3.00/hr night shift differential
