Senior Data Engineer
The Global Business Solutions Center (GBSC) Analytics and Automation team is built upon strong contributors with leadership abilities, innovative mindsets, and strong business and technical acumen. The team acts as an idea incubator supporting various GBSC initiatives by providing in-depth analysis and strategic guidance. The team identifies ways to leverage data for answering business questions and driving operational efficiency. We innovate using new age technologies and data analysis techniques to discover actionable insights and communicate data in new and more effective ways for influencing business decisions, encouraging long-term customer engagement, improving processes and productivity, and overall evolving the way we do business. Technology Stack: Primary tools for Analytics: Alteryx, SSIS, Tableau, Power BI, Power Apps Core database environments: Oracle, MS SQL Server Role: Support Automation & Analytics projects and initiatives within GBSC. Develop, test, and deploy Alteryx workflows to automate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes. Develop Tableau dashboards and reports that adhere to visualization best practices and communicate a story. Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical workflows. Troubleshoot workflow SQL performance and errors, ensuring optimal processing speed and resource utilization. All About You: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience) Experience in software development life cycle on analytics or systems integration engagements across strategy, design, and implementation Experience in Data Warehouse related projects in product or service-based organization Experience working with Alteryx and other ETL tools and reporting/analytics tools like Tableau or Power BI Expertise in information delivery and knowledge of data visualization techniques for preparing operational and executive dashboards Hands on experience on Oracle, SQL, and other relevant Relational databases Strong knowledge of SQL; ability to write, execute, and optimize performance of complex queries Data modeling and leveraging APIs Knowledge of a programming language like Python is a plus Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner with both technical and non-technical customers Problem solving mentality, resourcefulness, and creativity in identifying solutions Corporate Security Responsibility: All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks come with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must: Abide by Mastercard's security policies and practices; Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed; Report any suspected information security violation or breach, and Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard's guidelines. In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
