We are looking for a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role is critical for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company and carrier regulations. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate shipping records. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to workplace safety, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of our distribution center and play a key part in our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.
- Verify that outgoing shipments match order details and product counts.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant parties.
- Maintain organized shipping records and files.
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage and ensure proper packaging.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, with a focus on the correct use of PPE.
- Communicate with internal departments regarding shipping status and issues.
- Assist with receiving functions as needed.
- Support overall warehouse logistics and operational goals.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related administrative/warehouse role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common office applications.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to perform tasks involving moderate Lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Understanding of shipping procedures and logistics.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the use of PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
