Seeking a skilled Forklift Operator for our Grand Rapids, Michigan location! In this role, you will be instrumental in the efficient and safe movement of goods within our distribution center. As a certified Forklift Operator, your expertise will be crucial for loading and unloading trucks, transporting inventory, and supporting various logistics operations. Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate forklifts to move materials within the warehouse
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers accurately
- Transport inventory to and from designated storage areas
- Conduct pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report any issues
- Follow all established safety procedures and guidelines
- Wear required PPE at all times during operation
- Assist with inventory control and stock rotation
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations
- Report any safety hazards or operational discrepancies promptly
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current, valid forklift operator certification is a requirement
- Demonstrated experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical exertion, including lifting up to 60 pounds
- Thorough understanding of forklift safety regulations
- Good coordination, balance, and spatial reasoning skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail
- Familiarity with logistics and warehouse management systems is a plus
- Commitment to a safe working culture and proper use of PPE
