Our company is looking for a skilled Shipping Clerk to manage outbound shipments from our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing orders for shipment, verifying contents, accurately labeling packages, and coordinating with various shipping carriers. A strong understanding of shipping procedures, documentation, and logistics is essential. You will ensure that all shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company and carrier regulations. Maintaining a safe and organized shipping area is also a key responsibility. Diligence and attention to detail are critical for success. You will be required to utilize specific PPE to ensure your safety.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and process incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and proper handling.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking and packing orders.
- Verify order details against shipping manifests and customer orders.
- Apply correct shipping labels and necessary documentation.
- Schedule pickups with carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, freight).
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Operate shipping equipment such as scales and scanners.
- Ensure the shipping area is clean, organized, and safe.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and use of appropriate PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or general warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer applications.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of logistics and shipping regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to a safe work environment.
