We are seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk for our Minneapolis, Minnesota facility to manage the inflow of goods. This role is pivotal to our logistics and inventory management processes. You will be responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, documenting, and stocking incoming shipments. A keen eye for detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to safety are essential for success in this position. You will work closely with suppliers, internal departments, and logistics partners to ensure all incoming materials are accounted for and processed efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Receive all incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips, and note any discrepancies or damages.
- Inspect goods for quality and condition upon arrival.
- Accurately document all received items into the inventory management system.
- Assign appropriate stock keeping units (SKUs) and prepare items for put-away.
- Organize and stage received goods for efficient stocking.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and competently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments regarding inbound shipments.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of appropriate PPE.
- Participate in inventory reconciliation and cycle counting activities as needed.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse role is highly preferred. Strong understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse logistics. Proficiency in using computer systems and inventory management software. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and standing for extended periods. Experience operating warehouse equipment is a significant plus. Must be reliable, organized, and able to work independently. A strong commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE is required.
