Join our team as a Shipping Clerk in Houston, Texas, and play a key role in our efficient shipping operations! This position is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of all outgoing shipments. Key duties include verifying order contents, packing items securely, generating shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining detailed shipping records. Success in this role depends on meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and an understanding of warehouse logistics . We are deeply committed to ensuring a safe working environment for all our employees; therefore, strict adherence to all safety procedures and the use of appropriate PPE is mandatory. The role requires the ability to handle moderate physical tasks, including occasional lifting .
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick and verify items for outgoing shipments against order documentation.
- Pack products carefully to ensure they are protected during transit.
- Apply correct shipping labels and prepare necessary documentation.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL).
- Maintain organized and accurate shipping records and logs.
- Track shipments and proactively address any delays or issues.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe shipping area.
- Follow all established safety protocols and guidelines.
- Proper utilization of required PPE at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping department or warehouse environment is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and online carrier platforms.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in order verification and packing.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Willingness to use all provided PPE .
- Understanding of basic logistics and supply chain principles.
- Commitment to workplace safety .
