We have an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and processing outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all shipping regulations. Your duties will include verifying order details, selecting appropriate shipping methods, generating shipping labels, and coordinating with carriers. A strong understanding of logistics and documentation is crucial. You will play a vital part in our supply chain, ensuring that our products reach their destinations efficiently and without issue. Maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring proper handling of shipments are key responsibilities. We seek individuals with excellent organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, review, and verify shipping orders for accuracy.
- Select appropriate shipping carriers and methods based on destination, urgency, and cost.
- Generate shipping labels, packing lists, and other required documentation.
- Package products securely and appropriately for transit, ensuring no damage occurs.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pick-ups and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of all outgoing shipments in the company's shipping software.
- Conduct final quality checks on outgoing shipments before they leave the facility.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with the receiving of incoming shipments as needed.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the warehouse logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics/shipping role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Understanding of shipping regulations and best practices.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Commitment to workplace Safety.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
