Join our thriving logistics team in Houston, Texas, as a Material Handler! We need a strong, safety-conscious individual to manage the movement of materials throughout our warehouse. This role is fundamental to ensuring an organized and efficient workflow. You'll be responsible for receiving, storing, and staging materials for production or shipment. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Move materials to and from designated storage areas within the warehouse.
- Organize and maintain inventory in storage locations.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory verification.
- Receive incoming materials and verify quantities and condition.
- Prepare materials for shipment by staging them in the appropriate areas.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and report any issues promptly.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including proper lifting techniques.
- Wear and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator is required.
- Valid forklift certification is a strong asset.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds regularly.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to perform demanding tasks.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Commitment to a safe and hazard-free work environment.
