Our Des Moines, Iowa facility is looking for an energetic Picker/Packer to join our warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately picking products for shipment and efficiently packing them to ensure they arrive safely at their destination. This is a hands-on position that requires speed, accuracy, and a strong work ethic. You will be a key part of our logistics process, ensuring that our customers receive their orders correctly and on time. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential, as is a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Pick items from warehouse shelves according to customer orders and product specifications.
- Pack items securely using appropriate packaging materials to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify picked items against order lists or scanning devices for accuracy.
- Label packages for shipment, ensuring all information is correct and legible.
- Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy by reporting discrepancies.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and orderly workstation and contribute to overall warehouse organization.
- Participate in team-based goals and support colleagues as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous picking or packing experience in a warehouse setting is advantageous.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity for precise packing and handling of items.
- Strong attention to detail is critical for order accuracy.
- Must be comfortable with frequent lifting of items up to 40 lbs.
- Understanding of logistics and shipping procedures is beneficial.
- Commitment to workplace safety and following all protocols.
