Seeking experienced Forklift Operators for our busy distribution center in Columbus, Ohio. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating powered industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your efficient handling of goods is essential to our logistics operations and inventory management. This role demands a high level of safety consciousness and proficiency in equipment operation.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move pallets of goods within the warehouse.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from designated staging areas, production lines, and storage locations.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on forklifts to ensure they are in safe working condition.
- Stack and arrange merchandise in accordance with warehouse planograms and safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock verification as needed.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, promoting safety throughout the facility.
- Report any operational issues or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Strictly adhere to all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse or distribution setting is mandatory.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- Ability to operate various types of forklifts, including reach trucks and order pickers.
- Must be able to perform lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent knowledge of warehouse safety standards and OSHA regulations.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain operations.
- Strong spatial awareness and the ability to maneuver equipment in tight spaces.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to utilizing all required PPE and following safety protocols without exception.
