Join our growing team as a Material Handler in Austin, Texas! We are looking for a dependable and physically capable individual to manage the movement of materials throughout our facility. This role is crucial for maintaining an organized and efficient workflow, ensuring that materials are moved safely and accurately from receiving to storage, and then to production or shipping areas. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and organizing materials within the warehouse. A strong understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory management is important. Safety is our top priority; you will be expected to rigorously follow all Safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE and employing safe Lifting techniques for all material handling tasks. This position offers a stable work environment and the opportunity to contribute significantly to our operations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Move and organize materials within the warehouse according to storage plans.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company Safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
- Adhere to proper Lifting techniques and material handling best practices.
- Inspect equipment regularly for proper functioning and report any issues.
- Coordinate with shipping and receiving teams to ensure smooth material flow.
- Contribute to overall warehouse efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- Strong understanding of warehouse logistics and material flow.
- Ability to perform tasks involving heavy Lifting and physical exertion.
- Knowledge of Safety regulations and procedures in a warehouse setting.
- Proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to wearing PPE and adhering to Safety guidelines.
