We have an exciting opportunity in Cincinnati, Ohio, for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that all outgoing shipments are accurate, efficiently processed, and dispatched correctly. You will be responsible for preparing shipments, verifying order accuracy, selecting appropriate packaging materials, generating shipping labels, and coordinating with carriers. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy are essential. This position is vital for maintaining customer satisfaction and the smooth operation of our distribution center. Your role in our logistics network is key to timely deliveries.
Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare all outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify that order details match the items being shipped.
- Select appropriate packaging and materials to ensure product safety during transit.
- Generate shipping labels and complete all necessary shipping documentation.
- Schedule and coordinate pick-ups with common carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc.).
- Conduct quality checks on packed items before dispatch.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping station.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and supervisors regarding shipment status.
- Assist with receiving and stocking duties as needed to support overall warehouse logistics.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role. Proficiency with shipping software and carrier websites. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to perform lifting up to 40 lbs. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Understanding of warehouse operations and shipping procedures. Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all PPE guidelines is crucial. This role requires standing for long periods and manual dexterity. A proactive approach to problem-solving in the shipping process is valued.
