Our Los Angeles, California facility is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to manage the outgoing flow of products. This is a critical role within our logistics department, responsible for preparing shipments, verifying documentation, and ensuring timely dispatch. You will play a vital part in maintaining accurate inventory records and facilitating smooth operations. The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, and possesses a strong understanding of shipping procedures and safety protocols. We emphasize a safe work environment and require adherence to all safety guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Process outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to shipping guidelines.
- Verify order details against shipping manifests and packing slips.
- Select appropriate shipping carriers and methods based on destination and urgency.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation, including bills of lading.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup schedules and deliveries.
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage or discrepancies before shipment.
- Maintain organized shipping records and update the shipping log.
- Ensure all shipping activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track shipments and inventory.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE, to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
- Assist with receiving operations as needed, ensuring accurate inventory intake and proper storage.
- Support overall logistics operations by ensuring efficient and accurate outbound flow.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related logistics role is required.
- Proficiency with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to Lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and best practices.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the use of PPE.
