*Overview:*
Cate School is currently seeking applications from candidates for a temporary Athletic Trainer position to join our Sports Medicine Department, beginning January 6, 2026, and ending May 30, 2026. We welcome all levels of experience, including entry-level athletic trainers, seeking an opportunity to engage in all aspects of boarding school life.
*Duties:*
Reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer, the Assistant Athletic Trainer will work with students competing in 22 different sports including various outdoor activities. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills, problem-solving skills, and work ethic. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist in managing the daily responsibilities of the athletic training center. These include but are not limited to:
* Primary provider of transportation to and from off-campus appointments including imaging, orthopedic appointments, pre-op and post-op appointments, and physical therapy appointments
* Collaborating with the sports medicine team in game and practice coverage in conjunction with the athletic training team on weekdays and weekends
* Collaborating with the sports medicine team with coverage of away games when necessary and coordinating with the overall athletic schedule
* Injury evaluation, rehabilitation, and return to play protocols as reviewed annually by the School Medical Director
* Daily maintenance of athletic training center and equipment
* Maintain accurate record keeping/documentation of injuries, daily treatments, and any additional paperwork that may be necessary for insurance claim purposes
* Act as a liaison between families/School Medical Director, the Health Center, student-athletes, coaches, and off-campus physicians
* Provide coaches and student-athletes with information regarding injury prevention and effective training methods in conjunction with the Strength and Conditioning Coach, when appropriate
* Assist the Head Athletic Trainer as needed
* Assist the Medical Director as needed
*Qualifications:*
* Current certification from the Board of Certification
* Bachelor’s degree from CAATE accredited institution, Master’s degree preferred
* Current CPR (BLS)
* Ability to pass a background check
* Clean driving record

* Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of equipment and provide treatment to students
