Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned culinary professional to join our team as an Executive Sous Chef.

This role will play a crucial part in the pre-event setup, event-day operations, and event close out. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with traveling for extended periods, possess experience in large-scale food and beverage operations, and be eager to learn and grow within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • The Executive Sous Chef will travel to the event location approximately 1-2 weeks prior to the event start date to oversee the setup and preparation of the kitchen area.
  • They will work closely with the operations team to ensure accurate distribution of ingredients and supplies to all prep tent areas, assist in organizing and sorting prep tent areas, and guarantee that table order and linen order are distributed correctly.
  • The Executive Sous Chef will also assist the Premium Hospitality Director with additional tasks and duties as assigned.
  • They will facilitate communication between the culinary and operations teams regarding food distribution timelines, shortages, and specialty needs.
  • During the event, the Executive Sous Chef will assume a Front of House Supervisor Role, overseeing a specific area with designated duties.
  • They will oversee equipment clean up, ensuring all FOH Managers are informed and confident in packing up their areas, and provide clear instructions on how to pack equipment and what will be returned or reused for future events.
  • The Executive Sous Chef will collect all specialty equipment according to its specified preparation for either pick-up or packing onto trucks.
  • They will collaborate with the operations team to strategically pack semi-trucks for upcoming events.
  • This role typically lasts 3-5 days post-event.
