We are seeking a skilled Bakery Manager to lead our back of house team at the retail bakery. The ideal candidate will have experience baking and decorating cakes in a commercial bakery or pastry kitchen, as well as prior leadership or supervisory experience in a bakery, pastry, or production kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the back of house team at the bakery
- Oversee bakers on shift and train new bakers in From Lucie's aesthetic, structure, and standards
- Give clear direction on busy days and during holidays
- Own daily finishing and bakery pars, including reviewing preorders and custom cakes and helping build daily production and finishing plans
- Manage inventory, ordering, and flowers, including tracking and ordering finishing ingredients, décor elements, and smallwares for the bakery
- Partner with the cafe and commissary teams to ensure smooth operations and communication
- Maintain high standards and kitchen culture, ensuring DOH compliance, cleanliness, and organization in the kitchen
Requirements:
- Professional experience baking and decorating cakes in a commercial bakery or pastry kitchen (required)
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a bakery, pastry, or production kitchen
- Strong communication and organization skills, with the ability to plan the day and give clear instructions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work efficiently in a small, busy space
- Available to work weekends and holidays, including peak periods such as Mother's Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
