*Responsibilities*
* Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
* Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations to evaluate overall health and identify potential issues.
* Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) and utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems to document findings accurately.
* Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options to promote lifelong dental health.
* Assist in chairside procedures, providing support during general dentistry and pediatric dentistry treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
* Apply aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment, adhering to HIPAA regulations and dental safety standards.
* Review and update medical and dental records, ensuring compliance with documentation review and medical coding requirements.
* Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient patient flow, including four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal care delivery.
* Monitor and record vital signs and medical information, recognizing signs that may require referral or further medical assessment.
* Support the dental office’s commitment to quality care by maintaining a thorough understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control procedures.
*Qualifications*
* Valid state licensure and certification as a Dental Hygienist.
* Proven experience in dental office settings, with a strong background in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred.
* Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix.
* Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control protocols.
* Experience with dental assisting, chairside assisting, and medical imaging techniques.
* Ability to perform patient care with compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail.
* Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical records management.
* Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes.
* Excellent communication skills to educate and reassure patients of all ages, especially pediatrics.

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
