Job Title: *HQHVSN Veterinarian*
Paws for a Cause Vet Care is a nonprofit veterinary clinic dedicated to removing financial barriers to veterinary care, making it accessible and affordable for everyone. We are a full-service veterinary clinic that also offers high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter (HQHVSN) services. We are seeking an experienced and passionate HQHVSN Veterinarian to join our dedicated team.
We opened our new 16,000 sq ft facility in January 2025, have a team of 7 FT veterinarians, and are looking to add a few more.
Our facility is composed of a General Practice department, Advanced Surgery Department, Dental Department, and an HQHVSN department. *If Surgery isn't your thing, we also have openings in our GP department.*

*Key Responsibilities:*
*Surgical Responsibilities*
* Perform high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgeries efficiently and safely, in alignment with HQHVSN best practices.
* Maintain a consistent surgical pace (typically 35–40 surgeries per day, depending on patient mix).
* Ensure proper aseptic technique, pain management, and anesthesia protocols for all patients.
* Oversee pre-operative exams, surgical prep, and post-operative recovery to ensure patient safety and comfort.
* Make medical decisions efficiently while maintaining quality, focusing on minimizing anesthetic time and promoting rapid recovery.
* Conduct pre-operative physical exams and determine surgical eligibility.
* Provide humane, efficient diagnosis and treatment of common conditions seen in shelter and community cat populations (URI, minor wounds, skin disease, etc.).

*Surgical competencies:*
* Proficiency in pediatric, pregnant, and cryptorchid spay/neuter.
* Strong understanding of anesthetic protocols for high-volume settings.
* Ability to make sound medical decisions quickly.
* Commitment to access-to-care and equity-centered veterinary models.
