Job Summary: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Environmental Services Manager oversees all environmental services operations to ensure our residence remains safe, clean, well-maintained, and welcoming. This role combines hands-on maintenance work with team leadership, safety compliance, and facility management. The Environmental Services Manager will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of hygiene and operational efficiency across all areas of the organization.   What You'll Do:
  • Lead and support Housekeeping, Laundry, and Maintenance staff (hiring, training, scheduling, performance management).
  • Oversee building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Ensure proper operation of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, infection control, laundry services, and waste management.
  • Manage contractor services, inspections, pest control, and water temperature checks.
  • Coordinate fire safety drills, emergency preparedness, and compliance programs.
  • Support budget planning, inventory management, and cost-efficient operations.
  • Respond to resident and family requests with professionalism and care.

What We're Looking For:
  • Certificate in Building Operations or 2–3 years' facility/maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS, OHSA, infection control, and building systems.
  • Experience supervising staff in a multi-department environment, in a union setting
  • Strong problem-solving skills, organization, and ability to handle emergencies.
  • Comfortable with physical work and working both hands-on and in a leadership role.
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check and recent TB test (required).
  • Experience in seniors' living is an asset.
