Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant for our Medical Group Gynecology and Gynecological Pain & Minimally Invasive Surgery located at Skokie ACC in Skokie, IL. This is a full-time position (40 hrs/wk) and is benefits eligible. Hours will be scheduled/rotated Monday through Thursday between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm, Friday 6:30 am - 3:30 pm and 1 Saturday a month. This position will travel to our Chicago Lakeview office or other locations for vacation, vacancies and/or medical leave coverage. This position will also be trained to cross cover Urogynecology.
What you will do:
- Greet patients and escort them to exam room
- Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
- Provide front office support as needed
- Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
- Phlebotomy and injections may be required
- Provide clinical care under the direction of the office Physicians and Practice Manager
- Document vital signs, allergies, medications, reason for office visit and take medical histories
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures like Colposcopy, LEEPS, Hysteroscopy
- Collect/prepare specimens
- Sterilize and High Level Disinfection instruments and scopes
- Phone triage, test results, prior authorizations and in-basket management
- Back-up coverage for Patient Support Associates
- Perform other functions as delegated
What you will need:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
- Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required.Experience: One year of work experience required, 1 - 2 years Women's Health MA experience a plus
- On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.
