We are looking for emotionally attuned, experienced professionals like you to become Step Forward Foster Carers — offering a safe, supportive home to a young person transitioning from residential care. What is Step Forward Fostering?

Step Forward Fostering is a pioneering project designed to help young people who have faced trauma, loss, and instability move from residential care into a safe, nurturing family environment.

These young people aren’t simply looking for accommodation — they need someone like you: a trusted adult who understands emotional regulation, family dynamics, and the power of secure attachment.

As a Step Forward Foster Carer, you’ll work as part of a multi-agency team, with therapeutic support built in. You’ll never be alone on this journey.

What You’ll Receive:

Specialist Support:

Your own Senior Practitioner offering regular guidance and supervision A Family Wellbeing Worker to support both you and your foster child A Hub Carer providing up to 28 days of planned short breaks per year 24/7 Out-of-Hours Support A peer support network of other Step Forward Carers Ongoing training in trauma-informed care, attachment, and neurodevelopmental needs Therapeutic and psychological support aligned with your existing expertise Financial Package:

We offer a generous financial package so you can focus on what matters most — providing stability and care.
