Position Title: Paraprofessional I and II, Technology Support

Division: School

Reports To: Principal

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary Schedule: P3-1 (Para I) or P3 (Para II)

Work Days: 190

Essential Duties:

  • Serve as a first point of contact for students, staff, and faculty seeking technology assistance.

  • Maintain, track, and inventory media and technology hardware using a computerized asset management and repair system.

  • Maintain the school's Single Sign-on desktop catalog of supported software applications.

  • Arrange replacement and warranty repair of district-issued devices according to the Accidental Damage Protection Plan.

  • Assign district devices and resources to new users.

  • Provide basic training, technical support, and operational assistance to all end-users on various digital resources, devices, and peripherals.

  • Provide Tier 1 (minor) troubleshooting for student and educator devices.

  • Assist the Media Specialist in maintaining an orderly, neat, and attractive atmosphere in the media center.

  • Assume responsibility for all phases of acquisition, processing, and circulation of media equipment in the absence of the Media Center Paraprofessional.

  • Attend regularly scheduled system technology meetings and trainings as required.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Para I - minimum of a High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE), required. Para II - minimum of 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of college credit above the remedial level from a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution with the grade of "C" or higher.

  • Must maintain a Georgia Paraprofessional License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC).

  • Ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community.

  • Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.

  • Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.

  • Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.

  • Ability to be present at the physical worksite.

  • Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.

  • Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.

  • Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
