Construction Scheduler – Large Commercial & Industrial Projects
Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules for large commercial and industrial construction projects.

  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and engineering teams to define project scope, sequencing, and critical milestones.

  • Prepare baseline and updated schedules, including resource loading, subcontractor timelines, and procurement activities.

  • Identify scheduling conflicts, risks, and bottlenecks, and propose mitigation strategies.

  • Track project progress against the schedule and provide timely reports, forecasts, and variance analysis to management.

  • Support change management by updating schedules to reflect approved changes, delays, or scope adjustments.

  • Collaborate with contractors and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project timelines.

  • Maintain accurate records of schedule-related correspondence, meeting minutes, and project documentation.

  • Utilize scheduling software to model complex project sequences and analyze impacts of delays.

  • Support project closeout by compiling as-built schedules and lessons learned.


Qualifications
  • 3–7 years of scheduling experience in commercial or industrial construction projects.

  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, project controls, and critical path methodology (CPM).

  • Proficiency with scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools.

  • Experience coordinating with multiple trades, subcontractors, and project teams on large-scale projects.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and reporting abilities to convey schedule status to project teams and stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of project management principles and construction industry standards.

  • Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is an asset.

  • Experience with ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional) projects preferred.
