We are currently looking to add a new role to our team: Building Caretaker

Summary

The Building Caretaker is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized workplace across all office and plant areas. This role supports daily facility operations by performing cleaning duties, monitoring supply levels, assisting with light outdoor maintenance, and ensuring a professional appearance throughout the building. The Building Caretaker will work closely with the management team to address facility needs as they arise.

Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm

Key Responsibilities

• Clean office spaces, including wiping down all hard surfaces
• Perform daily cleaning of office and plant washrooms
• Stock and replenish supplies such as paper goods, toiletries, and hand soap
• Conduct spot cleaning as needed throughout the day
• Remove garbage and recycling from offices, washrooms, and common areas
• Complete light snow clearing and salting of entrances as needed
• Wipe and sanitize high-touch surfaces such as door handles, railings, and switches
• Communicate facility needs, supply shortages, or maintenance concerns to management

Key Qualifications

• Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or building maintenance roles considered an asset
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to lift, carry, and move cleaning supplies and equipment
• Familiarity with safe use of cleaning chemicals and products
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a clean and safe environment
