Position Overview

Worldwide Inc. is seeking an experienced Journeyman Outside Plant (OSP) Telecommunications Linesman to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the construction, maintenance, and repair of outside plant telecommunications networks. This position involves out-of-town work with consecutive overnight stays and may include shift work as project schedules require.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in OSP telecommunications line work and possess the leadership skills to supervise and mentor a team of junior line technicians in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair aerial and underground fiber and copper cable systems.
  • Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, maps, and specifications.
  • Lead and coordinate a crew of junior line technicians, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
  • Perform lashing, rodding, wrecking, and pole-line construction as needed.
  • Install strand, down guys, anchors, MPT's, distribution cables, feeder cables, FDH's
  • Conduct work in accordance with company safety policies, OSHA standards, and industry best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and team members.
  • Travel to job sites, including extended overnight stays as required by project schedules.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in outside plant telecommunications line work.
  • Proven leadership or crew lead experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of OSP construction practices, standards, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to climb poles, operate bucket trucks, and work at heights.
  • Valid class 5 drivers license with air brake endorsement is preferred (or ability to obtain).
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and out-of-town assignments as needed.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00-$41.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 70 per week
