Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Shift Manager to oversee daily operations within our restaurant or hospitality establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for supervising staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining a smooth and efficient operation during your shift. Previous restaurant management, food handling, and team management experience are highly valued to ensure the highest standards of hospitality and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant or hospitality operations during assigned shifts
- Lead and motivate team members to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain high food quality standards
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and compliance with safety regulations
- Manage cash handling procedures using Micros POS or similar systems accurately
- Ensure adherence to food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and health regulations
- Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training new staff members
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally to enhance guest satisfaction
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for timely stock replenishment
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines among team members
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment conducive to efficient operations
Skills
- Proven experience in food service management or restaurant management roles
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on hospitality excellence
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Ability to manage cash handling accurately and responsibly
- Skilled in supervising food handling processes and ensuring compliance with health regulations
- Prior experience in interviewing, training, and developing team members
- Familiarity with restaurant operations including kitchen experience, serving, barista experience, or hotel experience is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork and accountability
