Merlin Plastics is a leading plastic recycling and manufacturing company committed to sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence. We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Lead Hand to join our Production team.

Position Overview

The Lead Hand plays a key role in ensuring efficient production operations while maintaining a safe and well-organized plant. This position provides daily leadership, supports employees, ensures proper training, and helps maintain production quality and workflow. The Lead Hand reports directly to the Plant Manager and collaborates closely with the Foreman, workers, and management team.

Key Responsibilities

• Report on time for all scheduled shifts.
• Follow all safety regulations, company policies, and guidelines.
• Allocate personnel effectively to meet production needs.
• Maintain plant cleanliness and proper organization at all times.
• Motivate and communicate company goals to all team members.
• Train new employees on procedures and safe equipment operation.
• Address and correct inappropriate behavior or actions immediately.
• Scan and confirm incoming materials, ensuring correct product and quality.
• Ensure trailers are unloaded efficiently and safely.
• Complete daily paperwork and submit to the Plant Manager.
• Resolve problems and complaints in collaboration with management and staff.
• Suggest improvements and innovative ideas to enhance plant operations.
• Report equipment issues and work closely with the maintenance team.
• Enforce Health & Safety programs and report all hazards immediately.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

• Completion of secondary school.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Lead Hand or Assistant Lead Hand in a warehouse/production environment.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Reliable, dependable, and positive attitude.
• Able to work well under pressure and make sound decisions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively communicate and work with diverse teams.
• Basic understanding of human relations and team dynamics.
