Overview of Position:
JOB LOCATION: BEAUSEJOUR, MB
Cobra Mechanical is currently seeking a Field Supervisor – Electrician to oversee and support all field site operations across various project locations. This position plays a critical leadership role by providing mentorship to field employees, ensuring quality workmanship, maintaining safety standards, and supporting job planning and execution.
The Field Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring project progress, supporting problem-solving on-site, coordinating manpower and materials, conducting site inspections, and overseeing performance management for all field employees—including apprentices, journeypersons, Lead Hands, and Foremen.
This role requires regular travel to job sites and close collaboration with Project Managers, Site Leadership, Safety, and HR.

Key Responsibilities:
Field Staff Mentorship:
- Supervise Lead Hands and Foremen during site visits; ensure they have the skills and resources required to perform effectively.
- Provide coaching, technical expertise, and guidance to field employees, fostering professional growth.
- Act as the main point of contact for all site leadership inquiries.
- Evaluate employee skill levels and identify training needs to support safe, high-quality work.
Progress Reporting & Problem Solving:
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and support effective solutions.
- Maintain regular communication with Project Managers, Operations Manager, and site leadership regarding project deliverables.
- Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and compliance on all remote and on-site operations (checklists, audits, confined space, safety, work orders, investigations).
- Interpret schematics, blueprints, and plans to support job execution.
Leadership & People Management:
- Oversee all field apprentices and journeypersons.
- Schedule, assign, and follow up on field work to ensure quality results.
- Partner with HR on staffing, performance issues, promotions, and corrective actions.
- Conduct performance reviews and support a positive employee-relations environment.

- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience supervising trades teams.
- Strong teamwork, ethics, and integrity.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical abilities, and attention to detail.
- Ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Financial awareness related to job costing, budgets, margins, and material allocation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, technology tools, and relevant software programs.
- Deep understanding of trade regulations, safety requirements, and Canadian Electrical Code.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 6–10+ years of experience in the electrical trade, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Red Seal Journeyman Electrician required.
- Provincial license (e.g., MB HC License) required.
- Experience supervising field teams and overseeing multiple job sites.
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and installations.
- Additional safety or leadership training is an asset
