We are currently looking for:


Senior Mechanical Engineer

As a member of Octasic's hardware team, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for all packaging aspects of Octasic products. Octasic's cutting edge wireless products provide unparalleled performance, in a small footprint. The mechanical design engineer must create solutions to deliver compact, robust and reliable enclosures for a wide range of industrial and military wireless products, from hand-held to rackmount. 

 RESPONSIBILITIES  :

  • Lead and contribute to the design, analysis, and validation of mechanical systems and components in compliance with MIL standards; from concept through to mass production 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, systems, and manufacturing engineers to ensure integrated product development. 
  • Interpret and apply MIL-STD specifications (e.g., MIL-STD-810) throughout the product lifecycle. 
  • Prepare and review technical documentation. 
  • Design for and support qualification and certification activities, including environmental, shock & vibration, ingress protection and EMI/EMC testing. 
  • Participate in design reviews and customer meetings as a subject matter expert. 
  • Create and manage bill of materials for each product 
  • Interact with external and internal stakeholders to optimize design for manufacturing 
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on projects.  
  • Support the legacy products, BOMs and drawings updates. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.  
  • 10–15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in defense, aerospace, telecom or high-reliability industries. 
  • Experience designing RF products with related EMI and cooling considerations 
  • Experience with PCB layout: keep-out, height restrictions, stack-up interferences, ... 
  • Experience with thermal modeling/simulation  
  • Proficient in 3D CAD modeling, preferably SolidWorks 
  • Good planning skills and ability to work on multiple projects 
  • Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written, for effective communication with our international team
  • The ability to use SolidWorks, Flow simulator and Windchill is an asset. 
  • Eligibility for security clearance is an asset.
