The Cambridge Food Bank (CFB) provides food and support to individuals and families in need while working collaboratively to build a healthier community. We are committed to reducing food insecurity, promoting wellness, and engaging our community in meaningful ways. We are building health and belonging through food, education, and advocacy.

Major Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide writing, editing, and formatting support for outbound communications, including the CFB website, social media, e-newsletters, fact sheets, and reports.
  • Support the CEO in identifying relevant content and opportunities for communications.
  • Produce a wide array of written and visual materials, including press releases, backgrounders, posters, infographics, key messages, and speaking notes.
  • Identify and develop opportunities to promote the CFB's work through impact stories, media engagement, and promotional materials.
  • Develop and maintain key messages for programs, events, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Design and implement marketing strategies and campaigns to engage both new and existing stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain multimedia content, including videos, photos, and graphics for campaigns and marketing materials.
  • Build and manage relationships with key service providers (e.g., web design, printing, advertising, and video production).
  • Gather data and information to support spokespeople during media interviews.
  • Proactively plan and execute media opportunities to strengthen awareness and reputation of the Cambridge Food Bank.
  • Perform other related duties as required to support the overall goals of the organization.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Post-secondary education in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Strong understanding of social media strategy and digital communications.
  • Experience creating multimedia content and using design tools (e.g., Canva)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of the non-profit or charitable services sector is an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $23.40-$26.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Social media management: 2 years (preferred)
  • communications: 2 years (required)
