Job Description

Administrative Assistant is a self-starter with strong organization, communication, interpersonal, and computer skills. Working in a fast-paced, customer and employee-oriented environment, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for organizing and coordinating the administrative needs of the team. This position is primarily located in Fort Saskatchewan, AB for 4 days of the week, with a requirement to be at our site in Prentiss, AB 1 day a week. Travel will be compensated.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Support the leadership team
  • Provide administrative support for the leadership team including planning, scheduling, preparing invoices, purchase orders, employee paperwork, and training and safety documentation
  • Manage customer and employee enquiries in a courteous and expedient manner; stay in contact with customers to ensure needs are being met
  • Organize and maintain all files and records specific to the team
  • Assist in tracking projects, and ensuring the business unit meets organizational deadlines
  • Track employee scheduling and payroll and assist with employee needs

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with people of all backgrounds and levels of comprehension including managers, employees, customers, customers regarding sensitive or confidential issues

  • Ability to work with others to foster a respectful workplace and an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork; create a work environment that is open to maintaining positive relationships

  • Skilled at building, developing, mentoring, and leading in a way that promotes the Cando
  • culture and its values of safety, growth, innovation, and employee/customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently, be self-motivated, innovative, and able to be
  • responsible in the decision-making process; ability to think pro-actively and strategically
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the skill to adapt easily to other software systems
  • Demonstrated information gathering skills used to find and identify essential information

Education & Experience

  • Grade 12, G.E.D., or Mature High School Diploma preferred
  • Post-secondary certification in office or business administration an asset
  • Understanding of the importance of accurate training and safety monitoring
