We are seeking an Assistant Program Manager — an organized, relationship-centered leader who is passionate about supporting educators, families, and students in a vibrant and responsive early years community.
Previous leadership experience is considered an asset but not a requirement. At Blüm, we nurture talent and offer a robust Lasting Leader Program.
About the Role
The Assistant Program Manager works as a vital member of the Leadership Team to ensure our Academy is a seamless, joyful space for all. You'll play a key role in program coordination, educator support, and family engagement, while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Your strengths in organization, communication, and curriculum leadership will help sustain our thoughtfully prepared environment.
This role also includes being a Primary Educator within the classroom and acting as the Opening Manager (7:00 am–4:00 pm). As Opening Manager, you'll oversee morning operations, welcome families, support team readiness, and ensure the Academy is fully prepared for a smooth and positive start to each day.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Educators to maintain high-quality Montessori and Reggio-inspired environments
- Support with daily team scheduling, ratios, and classroom coverage planning
- Assist in family communications, daily updates, and relationship building
- Coordinate special projects, field trips, and classroom materials management
- Track licensing documentation, attendance, and health & safety checklists
- Support onboarding of new team members and coach Educators on best practices
- Maintain supply inventories and assist with ordering and budget tracking
- Lead with Blüm Kindness — modeling compassionate communication and responsive problem solving
- Step into leadership coverage when the Program Manager is off-site

Qualifications
- Alberta Level 3 Early Childhood Educator Certification
- Minimum 3 years of experience in licensed early learning settings
- Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills
- Comfort with digital tools (Google Workspace, childcare software)
- Valid First Aid & CPR, Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector)
Previous leadership experience is an asset but not required.
