Sapphire Child Care Lethbridge is a new childcare center in the Lethbridge area We are passionate about supporting each child on their personal journey of growth, providing tools, structure, and activities that support their independent exploration and learning outside of the classroom. Required Experience/Qualities:

→ ECE Level 3

→ Standard First Aid/CPR-C certification

→ Clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search

→ Experience working with children in childcare/classroom settings

→ Bachelor's Degree in Education or Diploma/Certiificate in Early Childhood

→ Resident of Lethbridge or surrounding areas, with reliable transportation

Preferred Experience/Qualities:

→ Experience working with children with exceptional needs

→ Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.

→ Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues

→ Ability to create engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and promote active learning

→ Ability to utilize computer systems for all documentation, reporting, and classroom operations

→ Strong problem-solving skills

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for children (cohorts range from ages 1-12)
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children.
  • Collaborate with parents to create an individualized Learning Plan to support their independent exploration in childcare.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to promote a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
  • Supervise children to ensure their health and safety.
  • Provide individualized attention and support to each child, taking into account their unique needs and abilities.
  • Support children's emotional, physical, or behavioural well being; while helping to develop their social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills
  • Monitor and assess children's progress, documenting observations and maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan and coordinate special events, field trips, and parent engagement activities.
  • Work with professionals, such as Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Early Interventionists as necessary
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding their child's development and well-being
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children.
  • Attend workshops, team meetings, and professional development seminars to maintain professional competence in the industry.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and center policies
  • Meet all classroom ratios as outlined
