Marble Falls Vision Center (located inside of Walmart in Marble Falls, TX) is seeking a dedicated and skilled part-time Optometrist to join our healthcare team approximately 3 days per week.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing primary eye care, conducting comprehensive eye exams, diagnosing and treating visual problems, and managing overall eye health. The Optometrist will work closely with patients to prescribe corrective lenses, detect eye diseases, and offer preventative care advice to promote long-term eye health.
Additionally, the Optometrist will also work closely with referring Optometrists to support the co-management process for Cataract, Lasik, & RLE procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive eye exams to evaluate visual acuity, depth perception, and color vision.
Diagnose and treat various eye conditions such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia.
Prescribe corrective lenses (glasses or contact lenses) and discuss options with patients.
Screen for common eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
Monitor patients’ overall eye health and recommend treatment or refer to specialists when necessary.
Educate patients on proper eye care, hygiene, and safety measures to prevent visual impairment.
Stay up-to-date with advancements in eye care, treatments, and technology.
Maintain detailed patient records, including examination results, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including ophthalmologists, to ensure optimal patient care and comanage the referral process.
Assist with administrative tasks, including patient scheduling, billing, and insurance verification.
Follow all regulatory and ethical standards within the optometry practice.
Requirements:
Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school.
Valid Texas licensure to practice optometry.
Strong understanding of eye anatomy, diseases, and treatment options.
Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, such as slit lamps and retinal cameras.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
Prior experience in optometry practice is a plus.
Saturday availability is highly desired.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Experience with co-management and patient referrals is a plus.
Experience and knowledge of refractive surgery pre-operative and post-operative care is a plus but not required. This includes LASIK, ICL, Cataracts, and RLE procedures.
Bilingual language skills are a plus.

600 - 800 USD per day(Marble Falls, Texas)
