We are seeking a highly adaptable and skilled *IT Operations Technician* to help maintain the stability, security, and performance of our internal IT infrastructure. This role is primarily focused on day-to-day operations, including user support, systems maintenance, and the deployment of new software and hardware. The successful candidate will ensure that all IT services operate reliably and efficiently.
You will play a key role in supporting our cloud services, data synchronization, and IT automation, working closely with the wider IT team. While the core focus is on system administration and maintaining in-house systems, you will also provide occasional front-line user support to assist with broader IT needs.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Deliver responsive end-user support, resolving issues related to hardware, software, printers, and connectivity.
* Administer and maintain internal IT systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
* Monitor the IT Gateway to proactively identify and resolve errors, preventing job failures.
* Collaborate with external software and system providers for issue escalation, development, and implementation.
* Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of SharePoint-based and other business solutions.
* Manage SharePoint security by administering user permissions and access controls, and provide training to end users.
* Stay up to date with industry best practices and advancements in IT administration and support.
* Ensure all data handling, transfer, and processing activities comply with legal and company policies.
*Skills & Qualifications:*
* Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network systems.
* Experience with IT service management tools and helpdesk systems.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
* Solid understanding of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint administration.
* Knowledge of data protection regulations and IT security best practices.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proven ability to liaise effectively with third-party vendors and service providers.
*What we are looking for: *
We’re seeking a technically skilled and dependable IT Operations Technician with a strong background in IT systems administration and support. The ideal candidate will hold a relevant IT qualification (or equivalent experience), possess industry certifications (e.g. CompTIA, Microsoft 365, ITIL), and have a valid UK driving licence.
*You should have hands-on experience with:*
* Microsoft 365 and Azure AD administration
* Windows Server environments and Active Directory
* SharePoint configuration and permission management
* Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, DHCP)
* System monitoring, job scheduling tools, and log analysis
* IT asset management and maintaining system documentation
* Virtualisation platforms (e.g. VMware or Hyper-V)
* PowerShell scripting or automation tools (desirable)
*We’re looking for someone who can:*
* Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of IT systems and services
* Monitor infrastructure health and resolve issues proactively
* Manage and maintain infrastructure components including servers, cloud services, and networks
* Contribute to IT projects and system improvements
You should be detail-oriented, highly organised, and capable of working independently on operational tasks and project delivery. A strong understanding of IT compliance, data protection (e.g. GDPR), and ITIL/service management principles is also desirable.
