We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and adherence to HIPAA and infection control protocols. The Dental Hygienist will collaborate closely with dentists and other team members to deliver comprehensive oral health services in a fast-paced, patient-focused setting.
*Responsibilities*
* Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, scaling, and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
* Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and documenting findings accurately.
* Assist with patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
* Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while ensuring patient safety through proper aseptic techniques.
* Monitor and record vital signs, medical history updates, and other relevant health information.
* Support dentists during procedures with chairside assisting, including handing instruments and managing materials.
* Maintain strict infection control standards following OSHA guidelines, including sterilization of instruments and equipment.
* Review documentation for accuracy in electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
* Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times.
* Keep the treatment area clean, organized, and well-stocked with supplies necessary for daily operations.
*Experience*
* Prior experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is highly preferred.
* Familiarity with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous.
* Knowledge of pediatric dentistry, general dentistry procedures, and pediatric-specific care is a plus.
* Experience with medical coding, documentation review, and medical terminology enhances efficiency in record management.
* Demonstrated understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and dental terminology is essential.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $46.13 - $55.56 per hour
