Associate Lawyer

We are looking for an experienced lawyer to assist in our growing family law practice. We are a fast paced and busy law firm in South Etobicoke. We specialize in four core practice areas: Real Estate, Family, Business, Wills & Estates. So any additional experience in these practice areas would be an asset but is not required.

In addition to the principal, we have four associate lawyers, a paralegal and a full complement of support staff.

We are now looking to add a new associate to work with the principal lawyer on all aspects of our Family Law files - including hands on case work, court attendances, research, client contact and file management and reviews.

Remuneration will be on a revenue-share basis and on very attractive terms.

Qualifications sought:

• Minimum 2020 Call or earlier with experience in family law. Must have experience with court proceedings, motions, DROs, Settlement Conferences and JDR.

• Strong knowledge of the Family Law Rules

• Clear and Articulate Communication Skills (verbal and written)

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Attention to Detail and Ability to work with deadlines

• Organized and able to manage multiple tasks

The right candidate may find several opportunities for growth and advancement within the firm.

This opportunity is most suited for lawyers with at least 5 years experience, that wish to grow their family law practice and also learn new practice areas while doing so.

Compensation is on a Revenue Share Basis with the associate receiving between 40% and 70% of total billings . This can translate to between $60K to $150K annually, depending on experience and billable hours worked by you. Depending on agreed billable targets, a base monthly draw can be arranged from the very first month. Additional billings will be reconciled on a monthly basis.
